Last week, we attended the annual Xperts summit, the premier technical event hosted by Fortinet. This year, the summit took place in the beautiful city of Prague. At this event, attendees receive updates, technical insights, and a glimpse into the future with detailed roadmaps.
While the location for next year’s event remains a mystery, we do know that the event will be twice as big, with two separate sessions to accommodate more participants. This means you’ll have two opportunities to attend the summit!
For non-technical participants, there’s also Accelerate, which will be hosted in Berlin next year.
ssshhh it’s roadmap
During the event, several exciting roadmaps were unveiled, though we’re not allowed to share all the details just yet. However, you can expect new FortiGate models to be released before the end of the year, and they might be smaller than you think! There will be something for everyone, covering both IT and OT.
While registration for all sessions isn’t open to everyone, I can say that the roadmaps for FortiSASE, FortiDeceptor, and FortiNDR look very promising. And these new features might be available sooner than you expect.
Official training updates
The event also highlighted some updates to the training programs. Don’t worry, the format of the new training system remains the same:
- FCSS ZTA will be discontinued.
- FortiSandbox Administrator will be introduced.
- FortiNDR Administrator will be introduced.
- FortiSIEM will be split into “FortiSIEM Administrator” and “FortiSIEM Analyst,” similar to the FortiAnalyzer format.
- Public cloud training for GCP will be available.
- New content will be introduced for Fortinet Certified Associate and Fundamentals.
Nice to know
As you may know, the lab guides for FastTracks are being rebranded and will now support language translation via browser plugins. Additionally, the participant capacity for the SD-Branch FastTrack will be doubled to 32 seats! Keep an eye on our events page to stay updated on upcoming FastTracks.
Last but not least, Fortinet has developed a Security Awareness Curriculum with dedicated lessons for various age groups:
- Rookies in Learning (ages 4-7)
- Novices in Exploring (ages 8-11)
- Specialists in the Field (ages 12-14)
- Leaders in the Community (ages 15-18)
- Experts in Cybersecurity (elective courses) (ages 15-18)
This is just a glimpse of the wealth of information shared at the Xperts summit. Stay tuned for more updates!
