The FortiGate Infrastructure course combines instructor-led training and interactive labs to build a working knowledge of advanced FortiGate networking and security features. This course follows the FortiGate infrastructure course. Topics that are covered include features commonly used in complex or larger enterprise/MSSP networks, such as routing, SDWAN, virtual domains, layer 2 switching, site-to-site IPsec VPN, Fortinet Single Sign On, high availability, explicit proxy, and diagnostics.

Target Audience
The FortiGate Infrastructure course combines instructor-led training and interactive labs to build a working knowledge of advanced FortiGate networking and security features. This course follows the FortiGate infrastructure course. The FortiGate Infrastructure course is intended for networking and security professionals who are involved in the design, implementation and administration of a network infrastructure using FortiGate appliances. This includes network managers, administrators, installers, sales engineers, systems engineers, professional services engineers (presales and post sales) and technical support professionals. Anyone planning on taking the FortiGate Infrastructure course is strongly recommended to complete the FortiGate Security course before this course.

Networking and security professionals involved in the design, implementation, and administration of a network infrastructure using FortiGate appliances. This course assumes knowledge of basic FortiGate fundamentals. Participants should have a thorough understanding of all the topics covered in the FortiGate Security course before attending the FortiGate Infrastructure course

  • Route packets using policy-based and static routes for multipath and load -balanced deployments
  • Configure SD-WAN to load balance traffic between multiple WAN links effectively
  • Inspect traffic transparently, forwarding as a Layer 2 device
  • Divide FortiGate into two or more virtual devices, each operating as an independent FortiGate, by configuring virtual domains (VDOMs)
  • Establish an IPsec VPN tunnel between two FortiGate devices
  • Compare policy-based to route-based IPsec VPN
  • Implement a meshed or partially redundant VPN
  • Diagnose failed IKE exchanges
  • Offer Fortinet Single Sign-On (FSSO) access to network services, integrated with Microsoft Active Directory (AD)

  • What certification can I gain from the FortiGate Infrastructure course?

    The FortiGate Infrastructure training is recommended to prepare for the NSE 4 exam to achieve Network Security Expert status. It is recommended you take the FortiGate Security course before this course. The NSE 4 exam is not included in the cost of this course.

  • What are the course requirements?

    You should be familiar with all topics in the FortiGate Security course, have a knowledge of OSI layers and firewalling concepts in an IPv4 network.
