JOHANNESBURG – March 31, 2021 – The Easter Bunny has come a little early this year for the young children at Nokuphila School in Tembisa, Midrand. This is after a donation of over 850 Easter eggs from Networks Unlimited Africa and its vendor partner, NETSCOUT.
“The objective was to put smiles on the faces of the children this Easter weekend,” says Anton Jacobsz, CEO at Networks Unlimited Africa, a leading value-added distributor within the Sub-Saharan African market.
“Because the lockdown period, which began this time last year, has made it even harder for non-profit organisations to continue operating, our company has redoubled its efforts to continue our support of Nokuphila School and its associated non-profit organisation, the Love Trust, throughout the past year.”
Accordingly, Networks Unlimited has also made other donations to Nokuphila School throughout 2020. This includes stationery and art packs for the children’s art curriculum; IT equipment to help with the running of the school itself; sanitary hampers to some of the older girls at the school in August, for Women’s Month; and 32 grocery food packs, including mainly everyday essentials, in December.
Nokuphila School is supported by the Love Trust, a South African non-profit educational organisation which has, to date, reached over 20,000 primary and secondary beneficiaries in disadvantaged communities. Under The Love Trust’s umbrella, Nokuphila School provides quality education, supplemented by nutrition and access to transport, to underprivileged and vulnerable children who attend the school.
The Love Trust is also the 53 percent broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE) partner of Networks Unlimited Africa, in a partnership arrangement which allows Networks Unlimited Africa to support its goal of helping vulnerable children through real practical and educational support.
“There are 368 children in the school in total, and 864 Easter eggs were handed over to the Head of the school, Mr Themba Themba, with teachers and children present. In these difficult times, when every goodwill gesture has meaning, we are proud to continue playing our part in assisting the community of Nokuphila School as it strives to create a better life for the children in its care,” concludes Jacobsz.
