The latest Financial Services Edition of the Thales Data Threat Report explores the perspectives of financial services respondents in 18 countries regarding their understanding of the evolving security threat landscape, and challenges and strategies for protecting data, whether in the cloud, on-premises or across multicloud and hybrid environments. Among the highlights from the report we found that:

• 55% of financial services organizations think that securing data in cloud is more complex than on-premises.
• 74% have two or more IaaS cloud providers and an average of 137 SaaS apps.
• 53% of their cloud data is sensitive.
• Only 46% of sensitive data in the cloud is encrypted.
