So, first things first: who are you and where did you end up interning?
Hi! I’m Raphael Heroes. I just graduated as Bachelor in Graphic & Digital Media from the Artevelde Hogeschool.  I did my internship at the marketing department of Exclusive Networks.  I was the one running around with banners one minute and designing LinkedIn visuals the next.

Why Exclusive? What pulled you in?
Good vibes. From day one, Exclusive felt super informal, welcoming, and just… human. No scary corporate energy, no awkward silence. Everyone talks to everyone, jokes fly around, and you immediately feel like part of the team instead of “the intern who gets coffee” (spoiler: I never got sent for coffee).

Okay but what was the company culture really like?
Imagine this:

  • Everyone is very friendly
  • Lunch breaks? Group lunches, planned by the company. Every day. (Yes, free food)
  • Soda drinks always available
  • Flexible mindset: trust, freedom, and responsibility

Basically, you’re encouraged to be yourself, ask questions, try things, and learn by doing.

So… what did you actually do as an intern?
A LOT. Like, “wait, am I still an intern?” a lot.

On the design side, I worked on:

  • Setting up assets in different formats
  • Online visuals for campaigns
  • Booth designs (seeing your design in real life is amazing)
  • Designs for goodies (yes, people actually use them)
  • Visuals for social media campaigns

And that’s not even all.

Did you also do event stuff?
Oh yes. Events were a whole adventure.

I helped with:

  • Prepping meeting rooms with goodies, banners, and all the branded magic
  • Welcoming guests at events (hello networking era)
  • Live event setups on location: checking audio & visual, making sure everything works, fixing last-minute chaos like a pro
  • Watching campaigns come to life after working on them for several months (super satisfying)

Basically: from screen → print → real life → event floor.

What surprised you the most during your internship?
How all-round it was. One day I’m deep into Photoshop and layouts, the next day I’m on-site setting up an event and checking if the audio works. You get exposed to so many facets of the marketing world, and you’re trusted with real responsibilities, not just “practice tasks.”

Was it stressful?
Busy? Yes. Stressful? Not really.  Of course, event days can be long.  Those are the days where you arrive early, stay until everything is perfectly set up, and leave when the last banner is packed away. But honestly, it never felt unfair or draining, because those extra hours are always recuperated later. The company is super flexible and really respects work-life balance.

And you’re never doing it alone, the team’s always there with you.  They support you, help you, and laugh with you when things get hectic. There’s always someone ready to jump in or explain things again.

Final question: would you recommend doing an internship at Exclusive?
YES. Very.  If you want an internship where you learn a lot, try new things, get hands-on experience, and actually feel welcome: Exclusive Networks is it. It’s super all-around, you discover so many new sides of marketing, and you grow without even realizing it. 10/10 internship.
