Day One (Wednesday): London, Live Events and a Lucky Train

I started out my day traveling in using the train to travel to the Exclusive London Offices. This may be the first time in my life I have not only got off at the wrong station, but also had to wait nearly 20 minutes for the Elizabeth line, my trains constantly going from "due" to "delayed" to "cancelled".

When I got to the offices I sat down in Pret for a little while, and met the team along with my lead for the next 3 days, Elizabeth. When I finally stepped into the office I was set up with my laptop I will be using for the next 3 days, along with my filming equipment that I needed for one of my main tasks while being here for work experience, which is filming and defining what a "day in the life" looks like. After being all set up the team headed into a London cab to the event which I was kindly invited to along side my work experience. I spoke to the film crew about how they work and what their set up process is. While talking I found out the leader of the film crew used to go to the college I'm currently attending, and he also picked very similar courses to me but one of the camera men filmed the viral "Gym Skin drop the shoulder" video, which put Madonna back into the UK charts, which is mental!

After everything was set up and ready the guests started arriving. Which seemed like a good thing in hindsight, but when you realise the event venue didn't have air conditioning, all the people coming and then further heating the place seems like a miniature horror story. Everyone got sat down to watch, listen and learn from the presenters on stage which was actually really intriguing. After that had ended I was also kindly invited to their summer party. I did attend for a little while and spoke to some very nice, lovely people. Sadly after around 45 minutes of talking I had to head home, mainly due to the extremely hot weather. However my day did not end there. I ended up having a crazy streak of luck with my trains. My train from Waterloo station got delayed just the perfect amount for me to catch it. Then when arriving home I did the obvious thing, turning on my fan and laying Infront of it for a good hour.

Day Two (Thursday): Alton HQ, a YouTube Deep Dive and the Perfect Costa Order

Today was a very different day to the first, however I personally enjoyed it just as much. I drove to the Exclusive Networks main offices in Alton, I quickly signed in, got my visitors pass and went upstairs to do some work. Not before having a nice lovely tour of the building. The pool table in the lunch room is truly calling my name!

I went upstairs to properly start my work. I sat down, filmed a bit more content for my "day in the life" video for Exclusive and then got to work on my blog, which is am currently writing, and also my Social media/YouTube research project. When focusing on my YouTube project, I wanted to show how their YouTube could be a benefit instead of a weakness but also how it is not needed for Exclusive. When doing my research into the topic, I realised that their best performing video was a Skit they did about the media team, reaching a total of 1.5k views which is much better then most of their other videos. This for me pretty much captures how YouTube shorts and how the platform works, which I heavily expanded on in the PowerPoint I put together.

At lunch I went down the road to grab a quick costa, which was just what I needed for the rest of the day. The best order of course would be a cheese and ham toastie with the chocolate chip muffin, which is obviously my order. After that I came back to the lunch room and chilled for a little bit just before I came back upstairs and continued work.

For the next 3 hours I worked mainly on my PowerPoint, trying to perfect as many details as possible. I wanted to focus on why the YouTube wasn't working, what was going wrong and how exclusive could use YouTube as an asset rather then a tool of growth. I noticed that the era of YouTube we are currently in makes it significantly harder to grow, knowing this exclusive can still use YouTube to their advantage, mainly using the platform as a catalogue/folder of all their videos they have filled which new employees, interns and work experience people could be recommended towards to help them gain more of an understanding of the company. When I felt like I had been a bit burnt out from doing the PowerPoint I switched over to editing my vlog that I have been gradually filming over my work experience. I really want my personality to come across when editing and voicing over the video, but also talking about what I'm doing at exclusive from a workplace aspect which I will have to admit is hard. I'm very sarcastic and jokey and having to find the perfect mix. between work and personality on the video is racking my brain a tad. After I had put the clips all together, it was practically time to pack up and leave for the day.

Day Three (Friday): Presenting to Liz, Pizza Express and Wrapping It All Up

I arrived on time, grabbed my pass and hastily came upstairs. I wanted to finish the remaining slides left on the PowerPoint presentation, I had a few idea of what I wanted to write and I didn't want to lose the idea by waiting too long so I made sure writing down all my thoughts was the first thing I did. I finished up the presentation ready for when I had to present it to my lead later on in the day. After that I was properly in the work zone, so I focused my attention to writing the remainder of blog, finishing the Thursday section and writing as much as I could for Friday.

At around 11am, I had a meeting with the film crew/team talking about my "day in the life" project, and how I was to approach that when it comes to editing and the style of content which I am going for. As I have previously stated, I want my own personality to come across in this, I was struggling but after few trials I have finally found an appropriate middle ground which not only makes me feel happy about the content but also gives it a nice strong professional aspect.

At lunch I was taken out to Pizza Express, probably one of the best restaurant chains ever! But I was kindly taken by a few of my leads over the last 3 days and some of the marketing team, they wanted to take me out to lunch to get a "proper experience", which I definitely did. I ordered the best meal possible, (like I always do), being a pepperoni pizza. The meal was lovely and what was more lovely was the people and the conversations that happened. When I got back from lunch I presented my presentation on my "YouTube research" project, to my lead, Liz. She was happy with what I had done and it also solved a few question for her about if Exclusive should continue with YouTube growth. after that I finished up my blog and filmed a bit more content for my "day in the life". After that I was done with my work experience.

I honestly had an absolutely amazing time at Exclusive. The people have been more then kind and just honestly incredible. I was given a very fun workload for the last 3 days and I had an absolute blast on Wednesday at the event in London, which I'm forever grateful to be invited to. If I could give my time here a score out of 10, I wouldn't be able to give Exclusive a rating because putting an 11/10 isn't allowed!
