Spam

Spam refers to unsolicited, often irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent in bulk, typically through email, to a large number of recipients.

These messages are usually designed to promote products, services, or fraudulent schemes and can include phishing attempts, malware, or scams. Spam can clutter inboxes, reduce productivity, and pose significant security risks. In addition to email, spam can also appear in other digital forms such as social media posts, instant messaging, or online comments.

Combating spam involves:

  • Using filtering technologies.
  • Educating users to recognize and avoid spam.
  • Adhering to the regulations which set rules for commercial email and provide recipients with options to opt-out of communications.

Effective spam management helps maintain digital communication integrity and protects users from potential threats.
